LITTLE BROWN BAT FACTS:
- Has several Brown Color phases, i.e., light buff through dark chocolate brown
- Shiny sleek appearing coat
- Wing span can be 7-11 inches
- Very sharp needle like teeth
- Climbs as well as it flies
- Eats three quarters of its body weight in insects per night
- Makes high pitched frequency sound
- They are a Colonial Bat
- Colonies may consist of a dozen to almost a 1000
- Litter size is one
- young will hang on the mother
- mother will stash the young while she goes out to hunt; on her return she will collect the young and will nurse
- young will stay with mother until migration
- the Colony will start to migrate in late September
- Their roosting habits include:
- attics
- barns
- sheds
- garages
- building overhangs
- beneath different types of shingles and siding
- under bridges
- caves and hollow trees

- Nocturnal
